You do not need a website company, an app developer, or a big budget. If you can use WhatsApp, you can put your grocery or kirana store online today. Here is the simple, step-by-step version.
1. Set up your shop (about 5 minutes)
Sign up, enter your shop name, upload your logo, and set the areas and pincodes you deliver to, with a delivery charge if you want one. That is your storefront created.
2. Add your products
You have two easy options: add items by hand (name, price, category) for your top sellers, or import your list from your billing software (Marg, Vyapar and others) in a single upload, so you do not type thousands of items again. Do not worry about photos on day one, your store shows a clean tile with each product's name, so it looks tidy even before you add pictures.
3. Turn on payments
Add your UPI ID so customers pay straight into your account with one tap in GPay/PhonePe, and switch on Cash on Delivery. There is no payment gateway to sign up for and no paperwork, money reaches you directly, with no commission.
4. Share your store link
You get one link and a QR code. Put them everywhere your customers already look: your WhatsApp status and broadcast lists, a printed QR sticker on your counter and shutter, and the bottom of your bills. That link is your shop, open 24 hours.
5. Start taking orders
Customers browse, order, and pay by UPI or cash. You see the order, pack it, and deliver, or hand it to your delivery boy. You keep every customer and every rupee, with no marketplace taking a cut.
A few tips to get your first orders
- Message your regular customers first, they already trust you.
- Offer free delivery over a small amount (say ₹299 or ₹499) to lift order size.
- Add a couple of offers to your homepage banner to give people a reason to click.
